Profile

I am a postgraduate researcher working on a PhD exploring the intersection of food genetics and food security at the Open University's Department of Geography. Intrigued by the lessons of actor-network theories, and the intellectual approaches derived from it, I am examining in particular the way such debates are played out materially and in practice. As such, my work takes the seed as the physical object around which my research hangs. Previously, I earned a Distinction in my Human Geography master's from Queen Mary, University of London, in September 2007. My master's dissertation, on the subject of Guerrilla Gardening, won first prize in the Landscape Research Group's annual competition.

Based in London, I am also a freelance feature writer specialising in environmental issues, urbanism and political culture. I am a columnist for, and regularly contribute features to, HUCK Magazine; have bylines for extended pieces in New Internationalist; and have written for The Ecologist and The Guardian's Comment is Free. I contribute film reviews to Little White Lies, and am a collaborator with the Church of London Creative Agency.
